The 800 Martyrs of Otranto
This video is commemorate the massacre which occured on August 14th 1480 when 800 citizens of Otranto, Southern Italy, who refused to convert to Islam were taken to the Hill of the Minerva and beheaded by invading Ottoman forces. Some of the remains of the 800 martyrs are today stored in Otranto cathedral and in the church of Santa Caterina a Formiello in Naples.
